Induction Process
How do we introduce a new employee to their workplace? The process takes about a year and is divided into a number of stages pre-employment preparation,
appointing a tutor, suggested actions on the 1st day at work (induction EHS training, medical examinations, etc.), suggested actions in the first week at work up to certifying the employees basic knowledge after a year has passed

Training and development
GSK – development-oriented organization GSK is making fast progress on its way towards becoming a “learning organization”
Many internal training programs are aimed at the younger, less experienced staff, e.g. annual personnel management improvement cycle (GSK Leader Academy) or Internal Trainer Academy, as well as periodical EHS training For training we use tools young people particularly value – computers, digital cameras, visualizations (poster, bulletins, newsletters, leaflets), e-training and cutting edge methodology: coaching, mentoring.

Student practices, placements and scholarships
What do we offer to young people starting their professional career? GSK often looks for candidates for future employment among students, by working with them in 3 basic ways: unpaid students practices, paid placements, and scholarships Each and every student is trained in EHS, quality and other training mandatory for a particular job, and knows how to apply this knowledge to the specific task they perform

Traineeships in the Quality Control Laboratory
Quality Control Laboratory: the right place for a safe start Access to our Quality Control labs, along with their rich equipment and experienced workers, allows students to gain experience associated with working at a pharmaceuticals factory even before graduating from university The top-class protection equipment used at GSK Poznań Quality Control Labs allows the young person to develop a habit of routinely wearing lab clothing and footwear, protective goggles, and a mask, whenever required.

Open days: Site tours
„Open days” – we try to share are knowledge not only among ourselves but also with young people Groups of students from various universities, academics, high school pupils are welcome to participate in organized site tours While visiting our facility, our guests are offered an opportunity to see the drug manufacturing process, learn about our working standards and quality systems, and to familiarize with safety and environment solutions.

GSK Science and Public Center
The GlaxoSmithKline Science and Public Centre (link) was established to encourage disease prevention, promote health and co-operate with patient organizations. It offers open, freeof-charge training and educational workshops for adults, youth and children.
One example in 2005 was involvement of kindergarten kids and young primary school pupils in the STOP THE NOISE campaign as part of the European Week for Safety and Health at Work information campaign.
