Scope & Objectives  The Summit has been conceived to answer an increasing market need for a blended, neutral, interdisciplinary and focussed international forum to focus on how and where elearning technology standards are evolving and on how they have contributed and may benefit from large scale governmental, market and research initiatives  The Summit is NOT intended to be a technical event but rather a strategic come together of international experts and stakeholders from main Standards & Specifications Bodies, Governmental, R&D and Market initiatives to introduce, discuss and demonstrate the convergence of new generation elearning technology standards and the need for their rapid adoption in the Knowledge Society of the 3rd Millennium  The Summit will be based on a 2 days Conference with 3 Plenary Sessions on Standards, on Governmental and R&D initiatives and on Industry and Academy case studies with complimentary training workshops and a modular sponsor programme for those stakeholders willing to train their people on new standards and/or achieve wider visibility of their achievements and offerings within a complimentary exhibition area, product showcase and executive event 3/9 eLearning RESULTS SUMMIT 2003

Venue & Schedule  The Summit Conference is scheduled on the 12th and 13th of MAY 2003, during the week of the next IMS quarterly meeting and access will be limited to a selected set of 300 invited international stakeholders The Summit will be held in the MediaTerraneo Conference Centre of the Silence Bay in Sestri Levante, host of Giunti’s R&D Labs and one of Italy’s most picturesque landmarks, also known as the town of the two seas, developed on a peninsula site hosting Hitech settlements and fisherman houses in a unique blending of lifestyle and working developments. Sestri Levante may be reached within average 1 hour transfer by train or car from GENOA or PISA Airports, 2.5 Hours from Milan Linate and Florence Airports. Pick up services will be available from GENOA airport on SUNDAY 11th and SUNDAY18th. A set of 80 near sea rooms have been pre-booked at a best rate on a a first request/first served basis. Conference Programme Monday 12th Morning (STANDARDS Session) In this session attendees will have the opportunity to get an overall picture of international specification and standards. Keynote speakers from different bodies will highlight existing specifications & standards, their development processes and guidelines and how to participate in each activity Monday 12th Afternoon (Governmental and R&D Initiatives Session) In this session attendees will be able to get information about main national programmes aiming to introduce elearning in the social, educational and working setting through streamline or R&D activities. Keynote speakers from sampled international regions will introduce governmental policies and initiatives Tuesday 13th All day (Markets Case Studies Session: Industry & Academy) In this session attendees will be able to hear a selected sample of relevant stakeholders from Companies and Universities having an international relevance and reach introducing their elearning policies and achievements. Needs Monday & Tuesday Sessions Speakers Candidatures Attendees ALSO having a Governmental, R&D, Standards and/or Specifications Bodies membership title are welcome to submit candidatures for speaking at the Monday Sessions on Standards, Governments and R&D Initiatives. ALL other attendees having an international reach and branding are also welcome to submit candidatures to present how standards have affected achievements, policies and roadmaps of their Companies or Universities. Speech slots will be granted on a conference focus and first received basis after that members will submit speech abstracts (150 WORDS) and speakers CVs (150 WORDS) within 15 March to the elearning Results Summit contacts in last slide Sponsoring Speakers’ sessions are meant to be strategically and NOT product oriented. Those attendees willing to achieve wider visibility for their commercial offerings to the European marketplace are kindly asked to pass the unique opportunities of the Results SUMMIT Sponsor Programme to their central or regional marketing departments Early Subscription Sestri Levante is one of Italy’s most suggestive and picturesque landmarks but as any natural location, rooms and facilities tend to be limited so please plan your stay and needs in due advance.
