The RMS Titanic was a British Olympic class passenger liner that became famous for being the largest ocean liner built at the time, and also for her tragic collision with an iceberg on April 14, 1912 and dramatic sinking on 15 April 1912.The second of a trio of superliners, Titanic and her sisters were designed to provide a three-ship weekly express service and dominate the transatlantic travel business for the White Star Line. The Titanic, and her sister ship, Olympic, were introduced to the world in a New York Times article on April 23, 1908, almost four years before the sinking.
